    The Waterloo British Field Hospital event is an immersive historical reenactment that transports visitors into the atmosphere of the British field hospital set up at the Farm of Mont-Saint-Jean, at the heart of the Waterloo battlefield.
    A strategic location during the 1815 Battle of Waterloo, the farm served as a field hospital for wounded soldiers, giving rise to its historic name, the “Hospital of the English.”

    This event offers a complete family experience combining reenactments, demonstrations and educational activities:

    Live reenactments

    • Installation of a historical bivouac illustrating the daily life of soldiers
    • Staging of a military field hospital with period medical procedures
    • Realistic depictions of medical care and evacuation of the wounded during the Napoleonic era

    Activities and demonstrations

    • Interactive workshops for children and adults, including a soldier’s school and explanations about military life
    • Period surgery demonstrations to understand battlefield medical methods
    • Presence of a blacksmith, guided tours and captivating historical storytelling
    • Cavalry, musket and cannon firing, and more than 200 reenactors involved in period scenes
