Festival Mozart

Since its creation in 1996, the Mozart Festival has become a major cultural event in Wallonia. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the festival returns with a special edition bringing together numerous international artists and young talents.

The musicians will be based in residence in Waterloo throughout the festival and will perform together during the various concerts. Among the invited artists are Alissa Margulis, Yuzuko Horigome, Marie Hallynck, Lily Maïsky and many others.

This edition also highlights Belgian composer Jean-Pierre Deleuze, who will be the festival’s composer in residence. The festival continues to encourage encounters between established artists and younger generations, notably through its Young Artists Program.

From classical music to tango and contemporary music, with works by Mozart, Ravel, Schumann, Shostakovich and de Falla, the Mozart Festival offers nine concerts at iconic venues in Waterloo and Brussels.

An original programme in which masterpieces by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Dvořák, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Prokofiev, Satie, Schumann and Shostakovich are reinvented through contemporary tango, in arrangements by Chloé Pfeiffer.
