On June 15, 1815, the Duke of Wellington decided to establish his field hospital at The Mont Saint Jean Farm. During and after the Battle of Waterloo, nearly 6,000 soldiers were treated here.
This former hospital, barely sanitized, is now a museum: « The Price of Bravery » . Come and discover the work of surgeons in wartime, the surgical instruments used, weapons, uniforms, ammunition… with an impressive recontextualization of the facts. Testimonies and illustrations of the work of Scottish surgeon Charles Bell, who was on the scene in June 1815, are also on display.

The visit of the microbrewery and distillery
You’ve probably already heard of the famous Waterloo beer – the very one served by the Duke of Wellington to his troops to boost their strength and courage on the eve of battle.
Today, that tradition lives on at Mont-Saint-Jean Farm, where the Waterloo Triple Blonde, Double Brune, Grand Cru, Red Cherry, Cuvée Impériale, and Récolte are all brewed with care using traditional methods. But that’s not all – the magic of the place goes even further: Waterloo beer also serves as the base for exceptional gins and whiskies.
During your visit, take a guided tour through the heart of the microbrewery and micro-distillery, then enjoy an unforgettable tasting session. And to take the experience even further, don’t miss the Waterloo Experience – an immersive sound and light show that brings the epic battle to life, followed by a tasting in a one-of-a-kind whisky aging cellar.
With or without a reservation, come discover a place where history, tradition, and flavor come together for an extraordinary experience.
