The Junction Network is a system for signposting cycling and walking routes, in which numbers are assigned to strategic road junctions and intersections.
These numbers are then displayed on signs at each junction, which also point the way to other numbered junctions in the network.
A short list of numbers from www.fietsnet.be makes it easy to plan a route. This is just a sample of the whole network, as we can now find the junctions in Flanders, Wallonia, the Netherlands and Germany.
The map is also available from most tourist offices (€ 7).
Tip: Check the list of « Bienvenue Vélo » establishments on your route. These will have the necessary equipment for minor repairs to your bike, as well as a first-aid kit.
