By bus – TEC Network
Waterloo is served by two bus lines from Brussels. Don’t forget to check the timetables in advance via the TEC app or their website.
Line W
Route : Brussels (Gare du Midi (South) / Avenue Fonsny) → Braine-l’Alleud (station)
- Stop for Tourist Office & Wellington Museum : Waterloo, Église (~50 min)
- Stop for the Battlefield (Lion’s Mound) : Braine-l’Alleud, Route de Nivelles (~60 min)
Line 365
Route : Brussels (Gare du Midi (South) / Avenue Fonsny) → Charleroi (Jumet)
- Stop for Tourist Office & Wellington Museum : Waterloo, Église (~50 min)
- Stop for the Battlefield (Lion’s Mound) : Waterloo, Monument Gordon (~60 min)
- Napoleon’s Last Headquarters : Genappe, Dernier QG (~65 min)
⚠️ On certain days, line 365 is less frequent. Make sure you plan your return!
Bus tickets
- « Next » : Ideal for short trips around Waterloo.
- « Multi8 » / « Multiflex » : More advantageous for groups or multiple visits.
Available via the TEC app, vending machines, points of sale (such as Waterloo Tourisme) or on board the bus. Fares may vary according to place of purchase.
Practical Info
- Get on at the front, get off at the back.
- Validate your ticket at the red terminal.
- If you have a mobile ticket, scan the QR code.
- Wave to the driver to stop, and press the « Stop » button to get off.

By train – SNCB
Waterloo station is 1 km from the city centre and our Tourist Office (approx. 15 min. walk).
To go directly to the Lion’s Mound, choose Braine-l’Alleud station and then :
- On foot: approx. 30 min.
- By W bus: bus stop at the station exit on the side of platform 4 (10-15 min. ride).
SNCB tickets are available online, via the app, at ticket offices or automatic machines.
Please note: a surcharge of €9 applies if you buy your ticket on board the train.Don’t forget to check timetables in advance via the SNCB app or their website.
Two Cambio shared cars are available at Waterloo station: whatever the duration, book online and get on your way!

Parking
Waterloo has 8 free municipal parking lots.

Cambio
Cambio is a simple, economical and ecological car-sharing service available in Waterloo. It lets you rent a car by the hour or by the day, without the hassle of owning one.
How does it work?
- Register online or via the Cambio app.
- Reserve your vehicle in advance (or at the last minute).
- Unlock it with your Cambio card or via the app.
- Return the car to its original location after use.
Two Cambio cars are available at Waterloo station.
