  • The Lion’s Mound

Climb 226 steps to the summit of The Lion’s Mound, a 40-meter-high hill built in 1826 at the spot where the Prince of Orange was wounded. From the top, a cast-iron lion overlooks the battlefield where visitors can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the entire site, a powerful reminder of monarchical victory.

    The Panorama

Discover this immense fresco, 110m in circumference and 12m high, created in 1912 by Frenchman Louis Dumoulin to celebrate the centenary of the battle. The Panorama illustrates a key moment in the battle as it rages. Plunge into the heart of the Battle of Waterloo thanks to an impressive sound system.

  • The Hougoumont Farm

Known as the last authentic witness of the Battle of Waterloo, Hougoumont is its most emblematic and best-preserved monument. Occupied by the British, it was fiercely contested on June 18, 1815.

The Duke of Wellington declared: « The success of the battle turned upon the closing of the gates at Hougoumont ».

Explore the site with its captivating sound and light show and a new museum space.

A tearoom is available on site for drinks and snacks.
