Exhibition « Résonances » – Écuries

From 8 October to 8 November

  • With « Résonances », the Écuries de Waterloo welcome two artists with very different artistic worlds, brought together by the same attention to material.

Marie-Françoise Ingels has been practising watercolour painting for nearly 20 years. She trained with artists including Odette Feller, Roland Palmaerts and Nicole B., gradually turning towards abstraction. In her works, water and pigments move freely across the paper, leaving plenty of room for chance, movement and letting go. She has exhibited in Belgium and abroad since 2011 and has also been sharing her practice at the École de Namur since 2018.

Camel has been exploring the possibilities of metal for several decades. His work was notably inspired by a striking encounter with an abandoned cement bag in the Caribbean in 1985. This image would later become the starting point for his « monumental pieces », metal structures several metres high, featuring bold shapes and colours. His more recent, smaller works also explore the place of an object within its surroundings.

In « Résonances », the works of the two artists enter into dialogue, creating an encounter between the fluidity of water and the strength of metal, between movement and structure, chance and control.
